Tim Loreman, PhD, President and Vice-Chancellor

Dr. Tim Loreman is 大象影院’s 8th president as of January 1st, 2017. Dr. Loreman was previously the Vice-President Academic and Provost at 大象影院. He is also a professor in the Faculty of Education and was previously a classroom teacher. His active research interests include inclusive education and pedagogy, having published widely in the area. He has held visiting professorships at the Hong Kong Institute for Education, the University of Bologna, and Queens University Belfast. He has been involved in a number of major Canadian and international research grants along with large international studies on inclusive education. Dr. Loreman was founding editor of the International Journal of Whole Schooling and more recently Exceptionality Education International.

Barb van Ingen, PhD, Vice-President Academic and Provost听

The Office of the Provost is responsible for Academics, Academic Support and Research. Previously, Dr. van Ingen served as the Vice-President of Student Life and Learning. She is a Counselling Psychologist, registered with the College of Alberta Psychologists and a member of the Psychologists Association of Alberta. Dr. van Ingen teaches Educational Psychology and Psychology, and was a classroom teacher with Edmonton Public Schools. She co-chairs the Wellness Research Cluster and researches university student wellness.

Jasmine Nuthall, Interim Vice-President Finance & Operations

Jasmine is an accomplished financial leader with decades of experience within the public, academic and non-profit sectors. She is recognized for her expertise in developing and implementing robust internal control frameworks, coupled with a remarkable ability to build high-performing teams.

She is known for driving financial excellence, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring fiscal responsibility in complex and dynamic environments. Through her community involvement, Jasmine also shows a devotion to making a positive impact on the communities she served through her volunteer capacity at differing Boards.

Carmen Arth, PhD, Vice-President Campus Life听

Dr.听Carmen Arth is Concordia’s Vice President of Campus Life. Prior to taking this role early in 2022, she was a faculty member in the Psychology department. Dr. Arth听is active in researching thriving and topics related to sexual and gender inclusion, and is engaged in innovation.听She served as the Director of Clinical Training at Loma Linda University in the Master of Marital and Family Therapy Program for several years, and also worked in various teaching and administrative roles at Athabasca University. Dr. Arth is registered with the Alberta College of Social Workers and specializes in Narrative and Positive Psychology Practice, mainly working in private practice, and consulting with community agencies and school divisions to support them in creating transformative systemic change.听


These are the members of the President’s Executive Council (PEC). The function of this team is to advise the President, through discussion, on all matters pertaining to the administration of the institution, and to serve as a consultative forum for its members. As a body, PEC has neither legislative, policy-making nor administrative authority. Its purpose is to provide advice for the allocation of resources and with administrative planning, research and development.
